Her er en melding fra TED.COM om at det nå er mulig å melde seg på til TED i 2009 som kommer til å bli en konferanse med 25 årsfeiring av TED. Det er rift om plassene og en bør ha sendt inn søknad før 12 februar.
We’re pleased to announce the opening of registration for TED2009 (Feb 3-7, 2009). The event is notable in several ways:
- it celebrates the 25th anniversary of TED
- it’s the first conference at our spectacular new home at Long Beach, California
- there’s no price increase… $6,000 still for a standard membership
- everyone gets a “main hall” pass
- our exciting theme, “The Great Unveiling”, features break-out talent, exclusive premieres, cool inventions and brand new ideas.
We invite you to sign up for a 2009 membership using the steps below. We strongly advise you to submit by 10pm New York time on February 12th. All applications received by that deadline will be considered for acceptance on the same basis. Any submitted after that will be treated on a first come, first served basis. There are 1450 places available, just a 10% increase over 2008, which sold out immediately. If, as is possible, the initial batch of applications again exceeds availability we will have to make some tough choices on how to allocate memberships, seeking always to make the TED community the best it can be: talented, connected, diverse.
So, here’s how to register:

2) Log-in and complete the form. If you think we may not be completely familiar with who you are, please do take the time to answer the questions relating to past accomplishments and future contributions. These answers become especially important, if we end up oversold.
3) Hit “Submit”
If you have any problems at all, get in touch with us through contact@ted.com. Your registration date will not be compromised.
We plan to inform you by Feb 22nd as to whether your membership is confirmed, or whether we have had to place you on the wait-list. In the former case, we will also go ahead and process payment.
We’re also holding a small reserve of discounted passes for those in the non-profit or educational worlds who cannot afford the full membership fee. This is not the time to apply for these passes. We plan to open registration for them (and for our Aspen simulcast) in June 2008.
